SkyTEM Canada expands to deliver exceptional exploration services
Toronto, May 23, 2018
SkyTEM Canada Inc, a global provider of airborne geophysical survey services has expanded their Canadian operations by establishing data processing and operations centres in Ontario and Quebec.
SkyTEM CEO Dr. Flemming Effersø believes the expansion is perfectly aligned with the company’s mission to deliver high-quality subsurface map products from a range of advanced airborne geophysical SkyTEM systems. “Our continued investments in R&D are paying off and we are experiencing tremendous growth in North America. Our technology is engineered to acquire highly accurate data as deep as any on the market and combined with our aerodynamic fast flying capabilities we deliver great economics. The mineral exploration sector sees tremendous value in what we have to offer. We provide great service,” Effersø continued, “and we are proud of our efforts and the growing application of our technology around the world. Since 2010 SkyTEM has established operations in strategic centres around the world and this expansion of our operations, data processing and project management capabilities is welcome news to the Canadian exploration market.”
SkyTEM’s new data processing centre in Toronto is managed by Douglas Garrie, P.Geo. B.Sc. Doug has over 25 years’ global experience managing mineral exploration projects and data deliverables. Most recently Doug served as Manager Geophysical Services at CGG (formerly Fugro). Prior to this role he managed data processing at Aeroquest.
“I could not be more excited about having Doug on the team” said Effersø, “ his knowledge of what the mineral exploration industry needs in combination with his consulting and customer support skills creates value for our customers and their ability to get the most from our data.”
Operations and logistics of SkyTEM Canada will be managed by partners Devbrio Geophysics headquartered in eastern Quebec. Jean-Christophe Ricard, President of Devbrio, and his team of field managers and technicians have over 10 years of global experience managing airborne survey logistics and operating SkyTEM systems, particularly in North America. Dr. Effersø stated “Efficient field operations are imperative to mitigating standby situations and to delivering extraordinary customer service. The experience and professionalism of Devbrio staff have played a significant role in the growth of our Canadian operations”
Reg Whitten, President of InterPlan Inc and consultant on a 21,000 line kilometre survey in BC said “…. I can say that SkyTEM maintained excellent communication regarding field logistics. They were responsive to changes in flight planning to recognize First Nation community and traditional-use activities by implementing temporary no-fly zones. They were very cooperative in finding solutions and communicating changes to allow contingency plans to be quickly developed. This resulted in optimal survey coverage and timely data acquisition. “
