Mapping groundwater in Sweden

Groundwater mapping in swedenSkyTEM Surveys has carried out a geophysical survey in Sweden to map groundwater on the Island of Gotland and in Southern Sweden for the Geological Survey of Sweden, SGU.

Gotland has a shortage of drinking water, especially during the summer, so it is essential to find more water in the ground, and the airborne geophysical SkyTEM system – recognized to be the best system in the world for mapping aquifers – was selected to carry out the surveys. In Denmark, the system has been used successfully for mapping groundwater all over the country.
