About SkyTEM Surveys
SkyTEM develops and operates helicopter-borne equipment for mapping the subsurface. This is typically done for the purposes of securing groundwater resources, locating minerals, or laying out infrastructure. Development and production take place in-house, so you will encounter a wide range of expertise in high- and low-current electronics, mechanics, composites, and software.
The position
You will be a part of the team responsible for developing the software that operates our equipment. We are engaged in the full development stack, from hardware integration to the web user interface. As an intern with the team, you will influence the implementation and selection of work tasks and will have the opportunity for professional feedback. We emphasize learning and productivity and prioritize having fun while achieving our goals. Depending on your experience and interests, your tasks may include:
- Implementing new sensor types (e.g. LIDAR, IMU, and GPS)
- Adding new functionality to our Python-based backend
- Adding new functionality to our React frontend
- Refining our pilot display
- Building development tools and infrastructure
- Developing automated tests
We are particularly interested in individuals with experience in Python, JavaScript, C/C++, or Linux. However, the most important ability is a willingness to learn and gain new knowledge. We have enjoyed success with a team of interns collaboratively using Scrum on a specific project. If you are a group of people already working well together, please contact us about this opportunity.
Salary and Terms of Employment
Your workplace will be our main office in Aarhus Nord. This is an internship position with an average workweek of 37 hours. The salary will be negotiated between the company and the intern. During your internship, you are welcome to join the daily lunch arrangement.
